Important Dates
1/ Costume Take Home Week/ May 11-16
At the end of your dancer's class, please pick up their costume and sign the Costume Agreement Form with Sydney to confirm that The Studio is sending you home with a good conditioned costume with all of it's pieces, and the costume is now your responsibility. All costumes will be steamed and any neccessary alterations should already be completed. Do not make any alterations to the costume--this includes adding or removing any pieces. Absolutely no extra glitter or rhinestones should be added. All tights, nude leotards, and shoes should be purchased separately.
2/ Picture Day/ May 29/ 4pm-8pm/ The Studio by EDE
Dancers will only need to be present for their scheduled class time. Please refer to the schedule sent by Sydney for your dancers exact times. Please arrive 10 minutes early with hair, makeup, and costumes on in case we're running ahead of schedule. Each class will get about 10 minutes to get their photos taken so pictures will move quickly, please do not be late!
An online link will be sent out for families to order their desired photos.
3/ Recital Dress Rehearsal/ June 16/ 4pm-8pm/ Morgan Middle School Auditorium
Dancers in the first half of the show (Tiny Dancers, and Level 1 Dancers) should arrive at check in at 3:45pm. Dancers in the second half (Level 2, Level 3, Competition Team, & Adult Dancers) should arrive and check in at 5:45pm. Dancers MUST ARRIVE IN FULL COSTUME, HAIR, and makeup.
Dancers are not required to stay the entire time. Please refer to the schedule sent by Sydney for your dancer's rehearsal times. Once your dancer is finished rehearsing on the stage, they are free to leave--just be sure to check out with Sydney or Serena before heading out.
Each class will have about 10 minutes on stage to practice staging, work with props and costumes, and get used to the stage lighting. This rehearsal is essential for dancers to adjust to the stage environment and smooth out any last minute details. Please note: this is not a typical class--there won't be time to review choreography step by step so please make sure your dancer is practicing at home! Dancers will also rehearse their bows on stage so it is important they come prepared and ready to go!
Parents may stay for this rehearsal, but no parents are allowed backstage unless given explicit permission by Sydney. Our staff (your dancer's teachers) will be backstage helping and entertaining your dancers backstage. If you decide to stay for rehearsals, we kindly ask that you keep noise levels down in the auditorium so that dancers can focus and listen to instructions being given on stage. No food or drinks (except water) are allowed in the auditorium. Be sure your dancer eats before or after their rehearsal.
4/ Recital/ June 17/ 6pm-8pm/ Morgan Middle School Auditorium
Dancers should arrive between 4:45pm and 5pm for check in with Sydney and Serena. We will have premade wristbands for dancers and parents detailing the parents name and phone number in case of an emergency backstage. No parents are allowed backstage unless given explicit permission by Sydney.
Dancers MUST arrive performance ready, meaning hair done, makeup done, costumes on, and dance shoes on! Dancers MAY NOT bring anything extra with them backstage--this includes, but is not limited to, DANCE BAGS, WATER BOTTLES, OUTSIDE SHOES OR CLOTHES, TABLETS, WATCHES, BOOKS, ETC. This is to ensure that nothing is lost as we will not be able to track down your missing items. We will provide water, small snacks, and entertainment for the dancers backstage!
Reminder: Tiny Dancers and Level 1 Dancers will bow and be excused to sit with their families at intermission. Serena and Sydney will excuse dancers for pick up on the stage. Please make sure to have your wristbands ready! The second half of the show will have our level 2, level 3, and adult dances! We encourage you all to stay and enjoy the show!
5/ Last Day of Spring Session Classes & Auditions/ June 27
Once recital concludes, Dancers will have 1 more week of classes to celebrate their performance and the end of the season.
We will be holding Competition Team tryouts June 27 at 2pm. If you have questions about our Competitive Team or would like more information about auditions, please email Sydney at director@ellensburgdance.org. Make sure to sign up for Summer classes, camps, and/or intensives! Summer session starts July 6!
