
OPEN AUDITIONS – The Holiday Heist - Another original from EDE!

Ellensburg Dance Ensemble invites dancers ages 6-adult to audition for our original brand new story, The Holiday Heist: A Winter Whodunnit! Winter Town is preparing for its beloved Holiday Parade when disaster strikes: the town's treasured Magical Snow Globe vanishes in the middle of the celebration.
With the town in an uproar, five colorful detectives arrive to help the Mayor and Townsfolk solve the mystery. This funny and energetic production will blend jazz, swing, character dance, ballet, lyrical, tap, and creative storytelling to bring this entirely made-up story to the stage.

Ages 6-8 - Time: 2pm-2:30
Ages 9-13 - Time: 2:45pm-3:15pm
Ages 13-Adult - Time: 3:30pm-4:00pm

Dancers with passion, imagination, and a spirit of collaboration.
All studios and community members welcome—you are not required to be enrolled in a dance class at The Studio by EDE, but we sure encourage it!
About the Show:
Directed by Serena Scheffer-Arango, creator of EDE's productions, The Little Prince, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. and The Nutcracker & The Battle for the Key, this new performance blends classical technique with modern theatricality for a family-friendly holiday performance.
Choreographers including Serena, Emma, Katie, and Alyssa will set amazing and fun dance scenes for everyone that will chanllenge and improve your dance technique!

Audition Expectations & Preparation:
Dancers should arrive early to warm up and prepare for a jazz and ballet-based audition, including center work and across-the-floor combinations. Pointe dancers should bring their pointe shoes and be ready to demonstrate technique. Tap dancers should bring their tap shoes and be prepared to demonstrate technique. Some dancers may be asked to demonstrate character movement or tumbling. Be prepared to learn and perform short choreography sequences. We want to see your acting skills as well! Show us your personality.
Wear appropriate dance attire (leotard, tights, ballet shoes, tap shoes, or pointe shoes as applicable).
Rehearsal Schedule:Rehearsals begin the weekend of September 26th and will be held:
Saturdays: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Sundays: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Dancers who participate in a show receive a 10% discount on attending classes at EDE (discounts cannot be stacked with other class discounts)
