As the most established and well-respected non-profit dance company in the region EDE has an essential role in keeping the local arts scene vibrant and alive. We are lucky to have some of the best and brightest artists and educators providing the community with quality dance instruction and performances.

EDE is Central Washington’s premiere dance company. We foster excellence in all forms of dance and instill in our dancers the enthusiasm and desire to share their passion with the local community. Dancers in the ensemble learn and perform works by hired choreographers, collaborate with guest professional dancers, and participate in a wide range of high caliber dance performances.

The Studio by EDE is our educational outreach facility in Kittitas County. We offer dance and movement classes for all ages – from Pre-K to Adult, with the bulk of our students in the K-12 age range.

The EDE dance company also creates and presents multiple performances each year including the largest performance of The Nutcracker in Central Washington. We work closely with Central Washington University and their dance and theatre programs, hire their students to teach classes, and hire them on choreography and artistic direction for our shows.

Working for a Non-Profit

For those interested in working with Ellensburg Dance Ensemble, the only non-profit dance studio in Central Washington, the board of directors is dedicated to ensuring transparency in explaining the working environment of a non-profit organization so that it aligns with your goals and values.

Working for the nonprofit organization, Ellensburg Dance Ensemble, means being part of the team dedicated to a cause that goes beyond financial gain. It is deeply fulfilling to know that your work directly contributes to making a positive impact in our/your community.

Nonprofits typically operate with limited resources, which can sometimes mean tighter budgets and fewer staff members. However, this environment fosters a sense of collaboration and resourcefulness as team members often wear multiple hats and work closely together to achieve the organization's goals. This positive aspect of teamwork and team effort is commendable.

With the potential for personal and professional growth, working for a nonprofit can be incredibly rewarding. You may have opportunities to take on diverse roles, develop new skills, and gain valuable experience in areas such as fundraising, advocacy, and program management.

Additionally, it's important to note that nonprofits also face challenges such as fundraising pressures, regulatory compliance, and sometimes navigating complex stakeholder relationships. Flexibility, strength, and a dedication to the organization's mission are key qualities that can lead to a positive experience working under a nonprofit entity.

Many people find satisfaction in the sense of community and purpose that comes with working for a nonprofit. There's often a strong sense of camaraderie among staff members, volunteers, and supporters who share a passion for the organization's mission.
