STORYLINE

A lone Aviator crashes his plane in a distant desert. Exhausted and unsure how he’ll get back home, he is startled by the sudden appearance of an unusual child—the Little Prince. The mysterious child claims to have traveled from a tiny planet far beyond the stars. The Little Prince asks the Aviator for a simple drawing. With that request, a friendship begins.

The Prince shares memories of his home: a quiet planet with three volcanoes and a single precious Rose. She is demanding, dramatic, and yet deeply loved. Unsure how to care for her, the Prince sets off to explore the universe, hoping to understand love by meeting others.

He visits a series of odd adults—each trapped in their own narrow beliefs. A pompous King declares he rules everything. A Vain Person begs to be admired. A frantic Businessperson counts stars as possessions. A dutiful Lamplighter lights and extinguishes a lamp so quickly they cannot rest. A scholarly Geographer studies everything but never travels to see it. The Prince learns that grown-ups can be very serious about very silly things.

On Earth, the Prince finds vast gardens of roses, realizing his Rose is not the only one. Heartbroken, he wanders until he meets the Fox, who teaches him that friendship takes time, patience, and gentle trust. Through this bond, he finally understands: his Rose is unique not because she is rare, but because he chose to love her.

As the Aviator weakens from thirst, the Prince leads him to a hidden well in the desert. There, the boy reveals he must return to his star, just as the Aviator must repair his plane. With the quiet help of a mysterious Snake, the Prince’s spirit returns to the sky.

In the final moments, the Aviator repairs his plane and looks upward. The stars now shimmer like tiny bells, reminding him of the Prince’s laughter. Though the boy is gone, the Aviator knows he will never be alone when he looks at the night sky—for somewhere among the stars, his friend still laughs.
