We're so excited to share that EDE is planning a new winter show - 'Twas the Night Before Christmas! We'll need help with fundraising, costume design, choreography, and all the other nuts and bolts that go into pulling off a huge dance performance!
Twas the Night Before Christmas: A Holiday Ballet
Step into a world of timeless holiday magic! Based on the classic 1823 poem A Visit from St. Nicholas by Clement Clarke Moore, our original choreographed ballet brings to life a heartwarming Christmas Eve. From a cozy Victorian parlor where a family prepares for bed, to enchanted visions of Sugar Plum Fairies, mischievous house mice, a dazzling Santa and dancing reindeer on a starlit rooftop, our show celebrates the wonder and joy of the season.

Ellensburg Dance Ensemble, a small nonprofit dedicated to nurturing local talent, is proud to present this enchanting production in December 2025 in Ellensburg. We are actively seeking choreographers, costumers, and other production volunteers to join our creative team. We welcome dancers from all studios and backgrounds, and auditions will be held in June and September.

Early Casting Announcement and September Auditions

We will be holding additional auditions on Saturday, September 20 at 3:30 PM at The Studio by EDE. All dancers are welcome to audition again, and we especially encourage those who are seeking additional roles to continue training this summer. There are several roles still needing casting (see list below). Sign up for September Auditions here.

Fall classes at The Studio by EDE begin September 8, and registration will open in August. All cast members are required to be enrolled in a ballet or technique class at The Studio by EDE or another Ellensburg-based studio. Show dancers will receive a 10% discount on classes. Rehearsals are held only on Saturdays and/or Sundays, so ongoing training is essential to dancer growth and show readiness.

This year’s show will be choreographed by Serena and Emma, with Serena also serving as Artistic Director. We are thrilled to have their talent and leadership shaping this beautiful production.
​
We are still looking for more dancers (ages 8 and up) to join the cast in September. If you know someone who may be interested, please encourage them to come audition! Remaining roles to be cast include: Elves, Ornaments - need more, House Mice - need more, Grandfather Clock Spirit, Enchanted Dolls - need more, Toy Soldiers - need more, Reindeer - need more, Christmas Tree Angel, Tree Ornaments and Presents.
